From the enthusiastic amateur runner to elite athletes, no-one wants to be hindered by injury or discomfort.
Biomechanical dysfunctions can lead to pain, discomfort or restricted performance during sport. Seeing a qualified clinician who understands clinical biomechanics and differential diagnosis makes all the difference in getting the correct treatment.
Our team of registered orthotists specialise in assessing and treating musculoskeletal conditions. They can provide an in-depth biomechanical analysis of your movement and gait to determine any functional deficiencies or alignment issues, which may be causing tissue strain or limiting your performance.
How can we help?
Following assessment, our orthotists will work with you to develop a treatment plan which may include stretching and strengthening exercises, and also foot orthoses which are designed to reduce tissue strain and allow you to train pain free.
These foot orthoses may be an off-the-shelf device or a bespoke pair of shoes made to your specific needs. Our sport-specific custom orthoses are manufactured by taking a digital 3D scan of the foot with our innovative laser scanners, which is then sent to our in-house CAD/CAM department for design and computer milling to create a device specifically for your requirements.
Common injuries which can benefit from orthotic treatments include:
- Plantar fasciitis
- Achilles tendinitis
- Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome (Shin splints)
- Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (Runners Knee)
- Metatarsalgia
- Stress fractures
- Ankle joint instability
- Tibialis posterior dysfunction
