Steeper Chest Compressor Brace

The Steeper chest compressor brace is an effective, non-invasive treatment for Pectus Carinatum, providing an alternative to surgery.

The Steeper compressor brace has been designed to apply pressure to the protrusion on the chest, and slowly remodel the costal cartilages to correct the shape of the chest.

The brace is manufactured to a cast or a scan of the patient’s chest ensuring an excellent fit and compression in the areas required by the patient. The orthotist will carry out the initial fitting of the brace, however the patient is in control of the amount of pressure that the brace applies during their treatment.

The brace is worn for 18-23 hours a day, 7 days a week for up to two years depending on compliance, age and flexibility of the abnormality. The ideal age for treatment is between 12 to 18 years.

The orthotist will carry out several reviews during treatment to record their progress and make any adjustments necessary to ensure the brace is working correctly and comfortably.
